To begin with, the popularity of the Internet is so big that people, esp. young generation cannot imagine the world without it. These days the Internet is also used to do the shopping. In fact, it is time-saving as all you need to do is spend 30 minutes clicking on products you require which then are delivered to your house. It is simple and easy. Shopping is not perceived as a boring activity by all customers although some claim it is. On the contrary, one can find many advantages of going shopping. Spending more time with the family or friends as well as experiencing various situations together are worth the time we spend in shops.
Moreover, we can meet lots of people, chat with them, laugh or have a short discussion. This face-to-face communication seems reduced these days and the reasons are the Internet and computers plenty of young people overuse each day. I believe human beings are to be together and it seems even shopping gives this opportunity to increase the amount of time we are close to one another.
Apart from that, some people find shopping relaxing and entertaining. Working and coping with everyday problems can be very stressful, and shopping seems a good remedy. Spending more and more time in front of a machine may not be so pleasurable. People tend to underestimate the importance of a genuine contact with others. It is time to stop and consider this matter.
Nevertheless, we can easily find advantages of the Internet shopping. What is worth mentioning is the Internet auction. Not long ago I had the opportunity to buy a good quality and at the same time inexpensive camera which I am very pleased with. I could also see many other interesting products, for example bicycles, watches, books etc. This way of shopping is very attractive and beneficial as you save not only your time but also money.
Going further, I find buying on the Internet especially convenient in winter when you do not feel like leaving your home on a cold gloomy Saturday. It is great you can simply stay at home and everything you need is delivered usually very quickly.
To sum up, I would like to make it clear that I am not against using modern devices to make our life easier. It is just a matter of not overusing them and making them work for us.
We all want to have more free time so to put our feet up, and in my opinion we should rather spend it with our family or friends than in front of a computer. We must be careful so not to become computer-dependent since we are human beings that do need other people to live. Saving time is a good idea, however, another matter is how we use this time.
